The organization SEYF - South Europe Youth Forum has hosted Job Orienteering (JO!), a youth exchange in the frame of the European Programme ERASMUS+. The project has been implemented in Andrano, in the territories of the Local Social Network - Area of Poggiardo from 14th to 21st October 2014.

The actors of the project

The development of JO! has been favoured by a strong partnership among SEYF, The Local Social Network and the Municipality of Andrano.
“Job Orienteering” involved 45 young people coming from youth organizations from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, France, Romania, Spain, Malta and Poland. Moreover, a wider number of local youngsters has been involvd through the contribution of the Local Social Network, through the participation to a motivational call.

The aims

The project dealt with the Euorpean priority to combat the youth unemployment t local, national and international level.
the project had the main aim to present to the young people all the job opportunities useful when they are building up their professional career.

The activities and the events

The activity plan has foreseen actions based on integrated methodologies, through the use of non formal education as a tool that fostered the acquisition of competences and knowledge by the young people and stimulated a high local impact.

The activities has been structured in three thematic areas, useful to know better the occupational situation in the countries of the participants involved, the innovative ideas promoted by young people and new methodologies helpful for creating a business plan and the self-promotion (through cv, presentation letters)-

The local impact

The partnership with local NGO’s and institutions has been fruitful since it has been possible to realize:
- a launch event with the local municipal administrators;
- an intercultural nigh with the participation of local young people;
- music nights with local people, at the Castle of Andrano;
- an infoday on the occupational opportunities offered by EU with the participation of the local Employment Agency, the Apulia Region and local organizations.

The results

The meeting of different groups coming from different cultural and national contexts with different economical and social backgrounds fostered the solidarity and the promotion of tolerance among young people, in order to strengthen the social cohesion in the European Union.
