L’ORGANIZZAZIONE
SEYF – South Europe Youth Forum, è un network di organizzazioni giovanili attivo in Puglia e nel Mediterraneo nella mobilità giovanile, seminari, scambi giovanili, corsi di formazione, volontariato, campagne di comunicazione e informazione sull’educazione, la progettazione partecipata, le opportunità per i giovani e i diritti umani, civili e sociali.
La mission di SEYF è di stimolare la lo sviluppo sociale e territoriale con il coinvolgimento e il protagonismo giovanile e delle comunità locali, soprattutto nel Mediterraneo, per costruire un’Europa più umana.
IL PROGETTO RESISTANCE: DOVE E QUANDO
Il progetto “Resistance” è supportato dall’Agenzia Nazionale per i Giovani nell’ambito del programma Europeo Erasmus Plus e con il prestigioso patrocinio del Comune di Lecce, il Polo Bibliomuseale di Lecce della Regione Puglia, Action Aid Lecce. Sono coinvolte ben 5 organizzazioni partner straniere e 40 partecipanti provenienti da 5 paesi europei: Italia, Grecia, Spagna, Bulgaria e Polonia.
Resistance si svolgerà a Lecce dal 20 al 28 ottobre Febbraio 2020.
IL PROGETTO RESISTANCE: COSA
Il progetto è il secondo di due scambi internazionali di giovani dedicati a promuovere una Europa più giusta formando i suoi giovani cittadini ad essere più consapevoli dei valori dell’intercultura. Durante il progetto, i giovani partecipanti saranno protagonisti della creazione di una campagna social contro l’odio online e il razzismo, nonché di azioni per contrastare il fenomeno delle fake news/bufale, a vantaggio di una società più consapevole e informata.
Il tutto avverrà per mezzo di metodologie partecipative, non formali ed esperienziali, mettendo al centro dell’iniziativa gli stessi partecipanti, con i loro talenti, le loro aspirazioni e le loro capacità.
LA MOSTRA DI “THROUGH OUR EYES”
SEYF è fiera di poter supportare a Lecce l’esposizione della mostra fotografica “Through Our Eyes” realizzata dalla ONG Still I rise in collaborazione esclusiva con Action Aid Lecce. La mostra non porta scatti di adulti verso i bambini, bensì istantanee tra coetanei. Dietro l’obiettivo della macchina fotografica non ci sono giornalisti o fotoreporter ma i ragazzi e le ragazze che vivono nel campo profughi costruito sull’isola di Samos, in Grecia. I giovani fotografi sono studenti e studentesse di Mazí, la scuola per preadolescenti e adolescenti rifugiati aperta dalla ONG ‘Still I Rise’ per offrire un’occasione unica di educazione alla resilienza, attraverso l’attività didattica e la formazione psicosociale. Nelle foto esposte in mostra le difficoltà che i ragazzi e le ragazze dai 12 ai 17 anni si trovano a dover fronteggiare ogni giorno nell’Hotspot di Samos.
La mostra sarà attiva a Lecce dal 24 febbraio al 7 marzo 2020 presso le sale adiacenti la biblioteca interculturale dell’ex convitto Palmieri (Piazzetta G. Carducci) e sarà di supporto alle attività e ai contenuti promossi dal progetto Resistance.
“Laddove c’è collaborazione, c’è produzione di cambiamento - sottolineano gli organizzatori di SEYF – nella misura in cui oggi non si può immaginare una gestione dei conflitti in modo solitario, ma solo attraverso compartecipazione ed empatia. Per questo ringraziamo tutti i partner dei contributi preziosissimi, insieme a tutti i giovani che partecipando hanno manifestato la loro volontà non solo di resistere all’odio, ma persino di proseguire avanti con spirito e iniziative rinnovate.

THE RESISTANCE OF EUROPEAN YOUTH IN LECCE
The Resistance of the 40 young Europeans who are meeting in Lecce with SEYF, to promote civic and cultural actions actions against racism and discrimination. The second edition of the Erasmus+ project “Resistance” is being held in Lecce from 20th to 28th February 2020. With the project, the exclusive exhibition "Through Our Eyes” by Still I Rise with Action Aid.
THE ORGANIZERS
SEYF – South Europe Youth Forum is a network of youth organizations active in the Mediterranean area and based in Italy (Puglia). SEYF organizes activities on youth mobilities, seminars, youth and intercultural exchanges, volunteering initiatives, communication and information campaigns on education, participatory development, opportunities for youth and human, social and civil rights. SEYF mission is the promotion of social and local development with the full involvement of local communities at Mediterranean level, so to build a more human Europe.
THE PROJECT RESISTANCE: WHERE AND WHEN
The project “Resistance” is the second mobility coordinated by SEYF with the support of the Italian National Agency for Youth (ANG) within the frame of the Erasmus+ Programme and under the patronage of the City of Lecce, the Municipality of Specchia (LE), the Polo Bibliomuseale di Lecce (Regione Puglia) and ActionAid Lecce, together with 5 organizations and 40 participants from NGO from Powiat Mikolowski (Poland) SEYF (Italy), United Societies of Balkans Astiki Etaireia (Greece), Institute Perspectives (Bulgaria) and ILEWASI - Centro de investigación, defensa y promoción de los derechos de los niños niñas y adolescentes (Spain). The project Resistance is taking place in Lecce from 20th to 28th February 2020.
THE PROJECT RESISTANCE: WHAT
The project is the second of two youth mobilities aimed at promoting a more inclusive Europe by educating young citizens to a wide awareness of the EU values of intercultural dialogue. During the project, the young participants will create a campaigns and tools for fighting hate speech, racism online, together with actions for fighting fake news as well, in order to promote a more inclusive, informed and aware society.
The project activities will be based upon participative methodologies, non formal and experiential education: participants will be the main actors of the project by promoting their own talents, dreams and skills.
THE EXCLUSIVE PHOTO EXHIBITION “THROUGH OUR EYES”
SEYF is proud to support the preparation and the promotion of the photographic exhibition "Through Our Eyes" created by the NGO “Still I rise” in exclusive collaboration with ActionAid Lecce. The exhibition does not bring shots of adults towards children, but it promotes snapshots among peers. Behind the camera lens there are no journalists or photo-journalists: there are the boys and girls who live in the refugee camp built on the island of Samos, Greece. The young photographers are students of Mazí, the school for pre-adolescents and refugee teenagers opened by the NGO 'Still I Rise' to offer a unique opportunity for education in resilience, through teaching and psycho-social training. The photos show the difficulties that boys and girls aged 12 to 17 may face every day in the Samos Hotspot. The exhibition will be opened in Lecce from 24th February to 7th March 2020 in the rooms close to the intercultural library of the “ex Convitto Palmieri” building (Piazzetta G. Carducci) and it will integrate the activities and the content promoted by the Erasmus+ project Resistance.
