"Green Work" has been a Youth Exchange involving 20 young people from Italy and Hungary and it dealt with the new conception of work related to EU enviromental strategy '20/20/20' for Global environmental challenges and climate change.
"Green Work" has been a bilateral Youth Exchange involving 20 young people from Italy and Hungary. It took place in Andrano, a small village in the Apulia Regione (Italy) and the activities lasted 7 days, from 15th to 23th October 2011. The main goals of Green Work were the promotion environment and youth employment, with a special regards to the development of ideas that helped the participants involved in searching, finding and inventing new working methods in line to the local, national and European tendencies and to the new industrial, cultural and environmental trends. Furthermore, the exchange successfully aimed at making youngsters aware about the environmental strategies '20/20/20' pursued by the European Union, in order to make 'green' the various occupational opportunities.
The methodologies used for "Green Work" met the requirements of the non-formal learning: the participants discovered the local realities (enterprises, companies, organizations and associations) that deal with sustainable work and the world of the "green volunteering": they've been main actors in this adventure and found out new ideas about the green entrepreneurship. Workshops, excursions into the green side of the territory, visits to farms, local activities, cooperatives, assocations and organizations that works with the environment, icebreaking, team building and problem solving activities with related de-briefing, daily evaluation moments have been the heart of the exchange that, finally, resulted as a constructive know-how sharing. The participants developed the ability to synthesize what they've learnt during the exchange through the realization of an information pack of their experience in different ways: a documentary video, calendars, brochures and presentation pack have been an efficient way to spread a new, green view of the contemporary world. Through this project, the young participants have been new protagonists and messengers of Europe in a small reality, far from the main circuits, where people work on sustainability but without a net-sharing of the knowledge. They succeded in foster chains of knowledge, new sustainable actions and solutions for work and environment for those who benefit, directly and indirectly, form the project.
